Toby Wilde Named Finalist for the Randal Foundation Award at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2026

Toby Wilde, founder of Oparo Group and Oparo Social, has been named a London finalist for the Randal Foundation Award at the 2026 Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards — known across the industry as 'the Grammys of Entrepreneurship'. The Randal Foundation Award is sponsored by the Randal Charitable Foundation in partnership with the Great British Entrepreneur Awards and recognises business leaders who use their companies to drive meaningful social impact, alleviate poverty, and improve or save lives.
Now in its fourteenth year, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards received thousands of applications for 2026, with finalists selected by a panel of entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders. The awards are built around the story of the founder as much as the business — the resilience, conviction and impact behind the numbers.
Building Oparo
Toby founded Oparo in 2019 as the UK's first algorithm-driven real estate investment company, built on the belief that better data and better decisions could unlock capital for the parts of the housing market that needed it most: supported and affordable housing for vulnerable adults. What began as a data-led investment thesis has since grown into Oparo Social, a technology and finance platform connecting institutional lenders, housing associations, and registered providers.
A third-generation member of the Milne Group property family and a founding partner of Sprift, the UK PropTech data platform, Toby brings a career spanning estate agency, lettings, and property development into a single mission: proving that financial performance and social impact can be built into the same system rather than treated as a trade-off.
A Track Record of Recognition
The Randal Foundation Award nomination adds to a growing list of industry recognition for Toby and Oparo, including:
- FinTech Solution of the Year winner, alongside six category nominations, at the Property Week Tech Innovation Awards 2025
- Highly Commended in both ESG Developer of the Year and ESG Investor of the Year at the Property Week ESG Edge Awards 2025
- Finalist hat-trick at the 2025 Property Week RESI Awards
- Social Impact Investor of the Year 2024 at the UK Finance Awards
- Named among Housing Technology magazine's Best PropTechs of 2024/2025
Across a 20+ year career, Toby has built five businesses, delivered two successful exits, and helped Oparo co-raise over £500m for social impact — supporting £50m of housing delivery and contributing to homes for hundreds of vulnerable adults across the UK.
What's Next
London finalists will be celebrated at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards gala later this year, where category winners are announced in front of the UK's wider entrepreneurial community. Whatever the outcome, the nomination marks another milestone in Oparo's mission to show that housing finance can be both commercially disciplined and genuinely transformative for the people it serves.
